Since I am back home for holidays, I have been busy reading books and I already seven books and I am reading Warcross by Marie Lu, which is by far very interesting. I thought since I read so many books, I will share some of my thoughts on them.
The first book I read this month is Blurred lines by  Lauren Layne. This book is about a friendship, more importantly friendship between a guy and a girl. I personally like books dealing with this subject. Many people have different views on this topic and I like to hear what everyone has to say.
Parker Blaton and Ben Olsen are roommates and best friends from their college days. They moved in together as roommates in their college and continued to stay like that even after college. Until the middle of the book both of them are good friends but something changes when Parker breaks up with her long time boy friend.
Ben is not in for committed relationships and he is more of one night stand guy. Parker wants someone responsible and stable. As conflicting as it may sound, Parker asks Ben if he would sleep with her. Like roommates with benefits. Ben instantly refuses and reprimands Parker. Ben wants to preserve their friendship and sleeping together will change something fundamental to their friendship.
Finally, Ben agrees to Parker’s proposal and they have sex. What follows next is a huge emotional turmoil and lot of painful feelings. Not only their temporary agreement is affected but also their friendship. Ben and Parker starts to develop feelings for each other which is obvious from the beginning but sleeping together strengthens what they had as friends.
I have observed that there are many romance novels on unlikely relationships. I think that is because it creates the curiosity in the readers as to what happens to the characters who are unlikely to cross paths. However, books like Blurred Lines shows us something which we all experience in life. Everyone has a best friend but what if that best friend is of opposite gender? Some believe that is impossible and some say it is possible. Whatever the truth is, if you like your best friend you should go ahead and say it. Not saying causes more damage than one might think.
The author has managed to capture the characters life very well. How they react to everything and what happens in their life every day is very important in books like this and I was so happy that the author executed her story so well.
The story is very well written and I really liked it. If you are into this sort of romance novels you should definitely give it a try.
