#My take on “Heartless”
This is one amazing cute story. We all know how creative can Meyer get. This is next level. That does not mean this is the best book I ever read, but it sure as hell is a very delightful book. You can actually get a glimpse of Carroll’s word play and the riddle – “Why is Raven like a desk?”. Meyer incorporated just the right amount of Carroll’s world and built a very new one on top of that. If you are an Alice In Wonderland fan, just like me, you are definitely going to enjoy reading this book. I highly recommend you people to read.
There is this too, Raven is a very distinctive character. His role is kind of important and – not important. But his presence was needed to make the book what it is now. Somethings, just don’t mean much but they ought to be there.
If you look at Cath’s character, you can very clearly see the evolution. The book slowly unfolds as you read it. In the beginning of the book she is just this innocent girl who like to bake and spend time with Jest (Cath’s secret lover). Now, at the end you see a tyrannical cold-hearted queen of hearts. What happened to her is just horrible!
JEST, OMG! He is a person who can make every girl’s tummy to flip and ache for his presence. I fell in love with him instantly. He is so charming and witty and he is so much fun to be with. You would never want to get away from him for any reason.
Cheshire cat is a very popular character from Carroll’s wonderland. In this book, you can see the matured version of Cheshire cat. It does not purr and cuddle up in its cat’s bed. It acts like a real gossipy man! It is so much fun to watch Cheshire cat like a man.
I don’t want to bore you will all the characters in this book. But there is one more very important and plot twisting character that I have to discuss before I move on to the plot analysis.
Mary Ann. Cath has only one best friend in the entire Kingdom of Hearts and that is Mary Ann. She belongs to a lower stratum of community where as Cath is the daughter of Marquess and Marchioness of Rock turtle cove. Well, Cath never thought of Mary Ann as her maid. They were friends. That didn’t last too long though. But whatever they had was real and witnessing such wonderful friendship was just magnificent.
My concluding thoughts go something like this.
The writing style scores 5/5.
The plot development scores 4/5.
Characterization score 4.5/5.
Overall Experience scores 3.8/5.
